My love and passion for writing was evident from a very young age. I always had notebooks of poetry and short stories that reflected a heart that longed for love. I grew up deprived of a mother’s love while enduring a very trying childhood…writing served as a great escape from my reality. I was able to pour out all the love I had on the inside of me to give on a sheet of paper and it seemed to flow effortlessly. I longed so desperately to give love and to be loved.
On January 5, 2003 I gave my life to Christ and the greatest love affair I ever knew began. The love I found has remained unmatched and unparalleled. I found that, even in my imperfections, He loved me perfectly and though I manage to still disappoint Him some days His love never changes. This walk with Christ has been rocky and there are many times I attempted to jump from the moving train, but He held my hand tightly so that I would not fall. Because of His undying love and His refusal to give up on me, I have continued to grow in the things of God. As I grew in the things of God, the heart that longed for love managed to evolve into a heart that loved Jesus and, as a result, eventually evolved into a heart that loved His people and longed to see them changed for His glory.
Shortly after giving my life to Christ I had a breathtaking vision and God placed Luke 4: 18, 19 in my heart, “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” I have often felt like Abraham while enduring Job like trials and though it has been painful at times, it all makes sense now.
I am a native of Florida. After serving honorably in the US Army for eight years I made my home in North Carolina. Until God changes my locale this is home. I am a leader in the body of Christ and I hold a degree in counseling. I am a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) and I also serve on the executive board of the Women of Wisdom (WOW) Café. My passions are for prayer, intercession, and praise and worship.
